Excavation works are being conducted in the outskirts of Hamburg, as shown in a footage released on Thursday, aimed at discovering if a children's playground was used as a mass burial ground in Nazi-era Germany.
According to city spokesperson Bernd-Olaf Struppek, human bones were found in the area every now and again, and a link to a clinic in Ochsenzoll was established.
Struppek revealed that archaeologists had found no human remains under the playground yet, and he expressed hope there will be no discoveries during a further digging process. "For us it is a very good news that we can say that these bad assumptions have just fortunately not come true," Struppek added.
